Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Karlsson (ranked 24353 p4p, 5270 weight class) and Afonso Padilha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Afonso Padilha told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Padilha at a distance.
Karlsson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Padilha.
Karlsson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Karlsson tests Padilha's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Karlsson misses with a series of wild punches.
Karlsson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Padilhas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Padilha throws a jab when Karlsson was well out of range.
Karlsson throws a combination. Padilha tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Afonso Padilha has been cut.
Padilha looks to land a left hand but Karlsson moved out of range nicely.
Padilha misses with an uppercut.
Karlsson lands with a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Padilha takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nice uppercut lands for Karlsson. That snapped Padilha's head back.
A nice leg kick lands there from Karlsson.

Karlsson lands a big head kick that sends Padilha tumbling to the mat! Karlsson takes a step backwards and waves Padilha back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Karlsson lands a big right hand that sends Padilha crashing to the mat! Karlsson stays standing though and waves Padilha back to his feet!

Padilha is rocked!

Oooooh!!! Karlsson has knocked Padilha down with a huge combo! Karlsson steps away and waves a wobbly Padilha back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Padilha is still on wobbly legs! Can Karlsson finish him?
We've been told by Karlsson's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Karlsson sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Padilha's defenses. It connects perfectly with Padilha's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
