Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lawson Serrano (ranked 2917 p4p, 3063 weight class) and Scott Potter (ranked 306 p4p, 323 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawson Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scott Potter!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serrano slips under a jab from Potter.
Serrano darts in trying to clinch
and Potter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Serrano tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Potter counters with a nice body shot.
Lawson Serrano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Serrano dives in and grabs Potter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Potter pushes down on Serrano's head and hops out.
Potter looks to land a right hand but Serrano moved out of range.
Potter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Serrano.
Serrano fails with the takedown
and Potter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Potter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Serrano tries to clinch but Potter is having none of it.
Potter swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Potter scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serrano shoots in but Potter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lawson Serrano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Serrano moves into the clinch successfully.
Serrano jumps guard but Potter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Potter breaks the clinch.
Potter throws a good cross that connects.

Potter scores with the left hand. Serrano knows he should have avoided that one.
Potter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Serrano manages to avoid it.
Serrano moves forwards but Potter connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Potter connects with a looping right hand.
Potter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Serrano looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice sprawl there from Potter as Serrano shoots in.
Serrano takes one on the button.
Potter misses with a body shot.
Serrano tries to clinch up.
Potter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Potter keeps the fight on the outside.
As Serrano backs off Potter throws a huge counter combo but Serrano manages to avoid it all.
Serrano doesn't manage to clinch there - Potter circles away.
Potter throws a lazy right hand but Serrano sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Serrano attempts a counter takedown but Potter avoids it well and moves away.
Serrano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Serrano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Potter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Potter let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Serrano.

Serrano gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Potter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Potter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Serrano shoots in and drives through. Potter sprawls well.
Potter stuns Serrano with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Potter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Serrano has his takedown stuffed
and Potter counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Lawson Serrano has been cut.
Serrano is breathing heavily.
Serrano darts in trying to clinch
and Potter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Serrano tries for a takedown but Potter circles away easily
and Potter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Potter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Serrano was well out of range. Poor timing from Potter.
Potter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Serrano seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Serrano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Serrano moves to clinch but Potter breaks away
and Potter counters with a right hand to the body.
Potter scores with a nice right hand.
Potter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Serrano doesn't seem bothered though.
Serrano misses with a takedown
and Serrano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Potter lands with a hook. Serrano tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Potter jabs Serrano to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Potter is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Serrano had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Potter tests Serrano's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Oh Serrano is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Potter moves in close and cracks Serrano with a massive right hand! Serrano, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Potter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Potter!
A very excited looking Scott Potter made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
