Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Faarooq Rahim (ranked 4080 p4p, 3998 weight class) and Adrian Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 401 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Faarooq Rahim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adrian Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz moves away from the strike by Rahim.
Rahim looks to throw the jab but Ortiz is out of range.
A slow jab from Rahim misses its intended target.

Rahim clinches with his opponent.
Ortiz misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ortiz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ortiz is trying to maintain a safe position but Rahim gets an underhook and turns Ortiz into the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rahim takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Ortiz jumps guard but Rahim stands there with Ortiz around his waist. Ortiz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rahim will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ortiz up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rahim goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ortiz softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Ortiz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rahim walks away with a smile on his face. Ortiz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rahim pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Rahim tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ortiz is able to avoid easily.

Ortiz slips a straight right by Rahim.

Rahim fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ortiz, pushing him back against the cage.
Rahim prevents a body shot from Ortiz.

Ortiz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rahim is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ortiz to the mat. Ortiz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rahim won't allow Ortiz to sweep him here.
Rahim with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ortiz controls Rahim momentarily but Rahim frees himself.

Rahim seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rahim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ortiz wants to improve his position but Rahim is controlling well.
Rahim uses his free foot to push down on Ortiz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ortiz.
Ortiz is looking to get to half guard.
Rahim lands with some strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
BOOM! Rahim connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Rahim postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Ortiz out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rahim goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
