Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Kidman (ranked 1234 p4p, 2793 weight class) and Theodore Logan (ranked 174 p4p, 347 weight class). Theodore Logan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Kidman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Theodore Logan!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidman misses with a lunging right hand
and Logan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kidman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kidman.
Logan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kidman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kidman.
Logan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Logan misses with a body shot.

Kidman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Logan is trying to control Kidman's posture but Kidman avoids it.
Logan is looking for a sweep.
Kidman trying to control the action but Logan is working from the bottom.
Logan regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Logan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kidman is pressing down on Logan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Logan is holding on for now.
Nice strikes from Kidman there.
Kidman trying to pass the guard but Logan defending well.
Logan misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Logan controlling the position well.
Kidman is keen to just control but Logan is a slippery customer.
Kidman content to control rather than advance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Logan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kidman is working away from the top position though.

Kidman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Logan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Logan wants to control but Kidman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kidman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Logan's head.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Logan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Logan cracks Kidman with a right hand to the side of the head.

Kidman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kidman is looking to take a break and control but Logan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kidman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Logan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Logan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kidman wants to control but Logan is keeping him busy.
Kidman tries to score with some ground and pound. Logan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kidman in side control, throwing shots but Logan defends.
Logan is looking for a sweep.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kidman wants to control but Logan is keeping him busy.
Kidman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Logan working for a triangle but Kidman defends it easily.
Kidman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Logan controls Kidman momentarily but Kidman frees himself.
Kidman is looking to work some ground and pound but Logan has wrist control.
Logan keeping moving, preventing Kidman from controlling successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kidman content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Left hook, right uppercut from Logan.

Kidman is rocked!
Kidman backs away from a small jab... but Logan lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Kidman crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Logan with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Theodore Logan!
