Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Derek Blueboy (ranked 2390 p4p, 3356 weight class) and Dylan Smith (ranked 180 p4p, 242 weight class). Smith has chosen Heave Away- The Fables as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Blueboy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dylan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blueboy throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Smith feints the counter takedown.
Blueboy tries to clinch up

and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blueboy's guard.
Smith stands up over Blueboy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Blueboy striking off his back but it's not causing Smith any problems.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Blueboy is rocked!
Blueboy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith is continuing to stall.
Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blueboy is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Blueboy keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Blueboy is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blueboy avoid being mounted?

Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blueboy looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blueboy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Blueboy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Blueboy seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blueboy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Smith cracks Blueboy with a solid left hand.

Smith gets to his feet and stands over Blueboy, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Blueboy felt that one! Smith unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Blueboy from any more punishment!
