Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Munoz (ranked 745 p4p, 812 weight class) and Ante Petric (ranked 78 p4p, 84 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ante Petric!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Munoz is defended easily by Petric.
Petric throws out a counter right but Munoz avoids it with no problem.
Petric throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Munoz shoots in and bounces Petric off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Munoz throws a big elbow that misses.
Petric really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Munoz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Munoz lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Munoz connects with a nice short shot to Petric's temple.

Petric has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Munoz is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Munoz shoots in for a takedown but Petric shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

It looks like Johnny Munoz has been cut.

Munoz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Munoz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Petric does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Munoz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Petric can do to turn this around?

Munoz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Petric defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munoz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Munoz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Munoz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Petric as he avoids it easily.
Ante Petric has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Petric counters with a huge left! Munoz is in big trouble! He's backing up but Petric isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Munoz from any more damage. A dominating finish by Petric!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ante Petric!
An out of breath Ante Petric thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
