Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Mike (ranked 2507 p4p, 3258 weight class) and Rock Steady (ranked 264 p4p, 394 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Crazy Mike!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rock Steady!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steady shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mike pulls Steady in close to prevent any damage.
Steady throwing strikes but missing.
Mike definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Steady in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Steady trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mike keeping moving, preventing Steady from controlling successfully.
Mike seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Steady trying to control but Mike is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mike is pulling down on Steady's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steady throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mike works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Steady throwing strikes from guard but Mike blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steady working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Steady postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Steady throws a strike but Mike rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Steady looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mike is one step ahead there.
Steady looking to control.
Steady looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mike puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Steady wants to improve his position but Mike is controlling well.
Mike with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Steady can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steady trying to control from the bottom.
Mike seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Steady regains full guard. Nicely done.
Steady tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mike stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steady swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Steady is controlling Mike's posture.
Steady can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mike controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mike takes a swing at Steady's ribcage but misses.
We've been informed that Steady has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Mike moves into the clinch.
A short uppercut from Mike.
A short left from Mike.
Mike lands a shoulder strike.
Nice body punch from Mike - that landed with a thud.
Mike lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Steady backwards.
Mike digs a right hand underneath Steady's ribcage. Steady let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Steady looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mike lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Steady.
Mike makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mike lands a shoulder strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mike lands a hook that snaps the head of Steady backwards.
Mike pushes Steady back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Mike working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Mike lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Steady backwards.
Mike lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Mike stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mike lands a right hand that snaps the head of Steady backwards.
A short right from Mike.

Steady is rocked!
Mike misses with the head strike.
Steady is still on wobbly legs! Can Mike finish him?
Mike lands a hook that snaps the head of Steady backwards.
Mike lands a nice uppercut.
Mike creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Steady with a big uppercut! Steady tries to clinch up but Mike pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Steady to the mat! Steady covers up and Mike unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Crazy Mike!
