Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23777 p4p, 23728 weight class) and Kulata Bitok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kulata Bitok acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 47 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 48 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kulata Bitok!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Buktot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bitok pinned against the cage. Bitok gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bitok steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Buktot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bitok was covering up waiting for the punch and Buktot finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bitok wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Buktot is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Buktot with a nice head shot there.
Bitok has control of Buktot's left arm, preventing Buktot from doing any damage.
Buktot's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bitok managing to control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bitok.
Buktot throws a quick counter kick to the body but Bitok avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bitok gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Buktot to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bitok has control of Buktot's left arm, preventing Buktot from doing any damage.
Buktot slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Buktot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bitok is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bitok being controlled here, momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dawindi Buktot dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Buktot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bitok is fending him off so far but Buktot persists. Nope, Bitok circles away and we're back to standing.
Bitok counters with a body kick.
Buktot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bitok can do to turn this around?
Bitok displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buktot.

Bitok closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Buktot did well to prevent Bitok getting side control.

Buktot is staying active underneath Bitok, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bitok performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Buktot is concentrating on defense, preventing Bitok from advancing position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Buktot keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Buktot manages to get to full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Buktot holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bitok fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Buktot lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Bitok shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buktot as he jumps to the side.
Buktot was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bitok shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Buktot pinned against the cage. Buktot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And Buktot counters with a quick kick to the body but Bitok blocks it.
Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kulata Bitok.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bitok shoots in looking for a takedown but Buktot manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bitok's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Buktot feints and as Bitok raises his hands in defense, Buktot changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Buktot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kulata Bitok will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bitok closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bitok shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Buktot darts in looking for a takedown but Bitok gets double underhooks and turns Buktot into the cage.
Bitok thinks about the counter body kick.
Buktot gets underhooks to prevent Bitok's takedown attempt.

Buktot gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bitok regains guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buktot content to stall in guard here.
Bitok looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Bitok looking for a sweep. Not yet Bitok, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bitok pulls Buktot in close to his closed guard and prevents Buktot from doing any damage or advancing position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Buktot is looking to pass into half guard but Bitok pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bitok is in guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Kulata Bitok comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bitok has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
