Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haruki Johnson (ranked 226 p4p, 1474 weight class) and Julio Cruzeiro (ranked 33 p4p, 209 weight class). Johnson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shooting Stars ft. Toro y moi (Flume Cover). Cruzeiro has chosen Jah Jah The Conqueror by Linval Thompson as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Julio Cruzeiro!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Cruzeiro throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cruzeiro throws a leg kick but Johnson sees it coming and moves out of range.
Johnson is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Cruzeiro scores with a jab. Johnson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cruzeiro looks to land a body kick but Johnson moved away.
Cruzeiro with a nice calf kick.
Cruzeiro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Johnson darts in and clinches Cruzeiro up against the cage.

Johnson lands a left hand.
Cruzeiro throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Cruzeiro lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Cruzeiro tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Johnson's elbow.
Cruzeiro pushes off an throws an elbow but Johnson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Johnson misses with a punch on the inside.
Johnson lands with a light punch inside.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson lands with a left to the head.
Johnson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Johnson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Cruzeiro or not.
Johnson gets through Cruzeiro's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Johnson swings wildly with an uppercut but Cruzeiro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Johnson scores with a nice hook to the head.

It looks like Julio Cruzeiro has been cut.
Cruzeiro goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Cruzeiro misses with a body shot.

Johnson cracks Cruzeiro with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Johnson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Cruzeiro to stand back up!
Johnson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cruzeiro.

Johnson lands a big uppercut and Cruzeiro crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Cruzeiro looks OK. Johnson waves Cruzeiro back to his feet!

Cruzeiro is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A bone on bone clash there as Cruzeiro blocks the leg kick.
Cruzeiro is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cruzeiro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cruzeiro seems to have recovered his senses.

Johnson drops Cruzeiro with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cruzeiro looks back up at him and smiles so Johnson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Johnson cracks Cruzeiro with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Cruzeiro tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Johnson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Cruzeiro is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Haruki Johnson!
During a confident post fight interview, Haruki Johnson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
