Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorgen Kruth (ranked 99 p4p, 412 weight class) and Aslanbek Akhtankhanov (ranked 9 p4p, 31 weight class). Kruth kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aslanbek Akhtankhanov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruth has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Akhtankhanov finds it's way round the side to connect with Kruth's head.
Kruth on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Akhtankhanov. Akhtankhanov obviously looking to wear him down.
Akhtankhanov stuffs the takedown attempt from Kruth. Kruth gets slowly back to his feet.
Akhtankhanov just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Kruth has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kruth takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kruth closes this distance looking for a takedown but Akhtankhanov circles away.

Kruth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Akhtankhanov avoids it really well and circles away.

Kruth goes for a double leg but Akhtankhanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Akhtankhanov continues to drive forward.

Kruth shoots in looking for a takedown but Akhtankhanov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kruth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kruth looks to throw the jab but Akhtankhanov is out of range.
Akhtankhanov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kruth.
Kruth gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Akhtankhanov counters with a good low kick that Kruth was not able to check.
Kruth fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Akhtankhanov to the ground. Kruth is now in Akhtankhanov's guard.
Kruth looking to sit in guard and control but Akhtankhanov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kruth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Akhtankhanov's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kruth has gone for a leg lock! Akhtankhanov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kruth's guard.

Kruth is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Akhtankhanov frees his head nicely. Oh but Kruth has switched to an armbar! Akhtankhanov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

In his post fight interview, Jorgen Kruth started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
