PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ray White (ranked 939 p4p, 1402 weight class) and Bing Bang (ranked 74 p4p, 101 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- Change. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bing Bang!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from White.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Bang.
White definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
White swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bang digs a good hook to White's body.
White misses with a right hand
and Bang counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bang slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
White throws a lazy right hand but Bang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bang keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bang tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but White was well out of range. Poor timing from Bang.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bang throws a series of punches but White moves out of range.
Bing Bang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bang misses the shot to the body.

White closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bang's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
White wants to control from the top but Bang keeps moving.

Bang is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
White postures up.
White in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Bang is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Our spies down at at Pure Progress Fitness inform us that Bang has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bang looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! White has picked Bang up and slammed him! Bang can't keep hold of the triangle and White manages to pass to side control!

White thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
White working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bang's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, White has managed to get both his arms back between Bang's legs - danger averted.
White stays in close to Bang's body and controls the position.

Bang working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because White has passed into half guard!
White working over Bang with some ground and pound. Bang looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Bang regains full guard. Nicely done.

Bang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bang trying to keep a closed guard but White is proving a slippery customer.
Bang might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control White haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Bang looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! White has picked Bang up and slammed him! Bang can't keep hold of the triangle and White manages to pass to side control!
Bang is not content to let White control the position.
White cracks Bang with a big elbow.
White lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bang tries to improve position but can't.
White lands a nice forearm strike.
White scores with punches from side control.

White is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bang knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bang is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Bang manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
This has been an exciting period of action!
White is pressing down on Bang's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
White wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bang lands a nice short elbow.

Bang performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Bang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed White's head.
White tries to get to full guard but Bang has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ray White dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bang tries a low kick but White avoids it.
White throws a hook to the side of Bang's head but Bang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
White shoots in for a double leg but Bang sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
White takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
White takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bang takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
White throws a hook but Bang avoids it easily.

White shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bang wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and White manages to pass to side control.
