The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gomes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gibson defends it well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gibson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gomes is trying to work for a kimura but Gibson is defending well.
Gomes wants to work for an arm triangle but Gibson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gibson trying to hold on to Gomes's head to control him but Gomes postures up.
Gomes frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gibson is squirming around, avoiding Gomes's attempts to control the action.
Gomes moves to back control.

Gibson won't enjoy being in this position. Gomes looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Gibson is tapping - it's over boys! Gomes picks up the submission victory!
