The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Perry lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tonying has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tonying rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tonying avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Perry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch but Tonying swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Perry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tonying sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tonying swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Perry.

It looks like Dalton Perry has been cut.

Perry moves in looking to clinch but Tonying pushes him off.

A telegraphed right hand from Tonying misses the target.

The Great Tonying seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perry gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tonying.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Tonying engages and cracks Perry with a massive lead left hook - Perry tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Tonying is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
