Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arman Avangyan (ranked 5581 p4p, 3627 weight class) and KJ Hoodwell (ranked 430 p4p, 366 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arman Avangyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KJ Hoodwell!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avangyan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hoodwell napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hoodwell is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Avangyan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hoodwell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avangyan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoodwell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoodwell tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Avangyan lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Avangyan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hoodwell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big shot lands for Avangyan! That's hurt Hoodwell! Will he recover? Avangyan fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

In his post fight interview, Arman Avangyan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
