Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Naoki Kitano (ranked 5374 p4p, 4994 weight class) and Charlie Smith (ranked 291 p4p, 281 weight class). Kitano comes to the ring accompanied by Blue Spring OST - Drop. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoki Kitano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Smith!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitano takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Smith needs to keep his hands up - Kitano had a free shot at his head there.
Kitano swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kitano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Smith misses with a body kick.
Kitano swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A jab from Kitano misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kitano rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Smith makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kitano really felt that one!
Kitano throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smith counters with an inside leg kick.
Smith throws a head kick that misses
and Kitano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Smith has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kitano finds it's way round the side to connect with Smith's head.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kitano cracks Smith with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Smith throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kitano scores with a jab to the head.
Smith throws a leg kick but Kitano sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kitano is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kitano on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.

Kitano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Smith was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Smith throws a push kick but Kitano slaps the foot to one side.
Kitano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Smith throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Smith moves out of range as Kitano strikes.
Smith tries a quick counter leg kick but Kitano is wise to it.
Smith takes one to the side of the head.
Kitano loads up on a big right hand but Smith slips the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith slips under a jab from Kitano.
And Smith responds with a good body kick, but Kitano manages to step out the way in time.

Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kitano is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Smith lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Smith fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Kitano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Despite the aggression on Smith's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Smith blocks a jab.
Smith moves away from the strike by Kitano.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Kitano scores with a jab to the body.

Smith thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kitano if he has to take too many more of those.
Kitano misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Smith moves out of range of the strikes.
Kitano throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Smith raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A shot to the body from Kitano misses
and Smith counters with a nice leg kick.
Smith attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Smith gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kitano counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smith looks winded!
Kitano scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's six minutes gone in the round.
Kitano throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
Kitano thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Smith takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Smith has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Smith there as he acknowledges the shot.
Smith is rocked!
Kitano looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Are you kidding me?! Kitano ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Smith clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Naoki Kitano!
After winning the bout, Naoki Kitano thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
