Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Kubota (ranked 3842 p4p, 3862 weight class) and Light Weight Jones (ranked 381 p4p, 383 weight class). Kubota comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet Ballet OST - Barrel. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Kubota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Light Weight Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones walks into a jab.
Kubota connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kubota swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones tries to clinch up
and Kubota counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jones keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

A jab from Kubota does it's job there.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kubota creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Kubota lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Our sources have told us that Kubota has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Kubota jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kubota is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Kubota is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kubota manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Kubota's guard.

Kubota has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Kubota pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
Kubota is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kubota is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kubota does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kubota has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kubota and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kubota, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
