Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Askren (ranked 1860 p4p, 1570 weight class) and Adam Bogo (ranked 130 p4p, 111 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 1, fighting out of London, Jake Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Bogo!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Askren.
Askren looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bogo is fending him off so far but Askren persists. Nope, Bogo circles away and we're back to standing.
Askren moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Askren drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Askren wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bogo keeps working.
Bogo is trying to control Askren's posture but Askren avoids it.
Askren passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Bogo!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Askren can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bogo is looking to escape.

Askren gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Bogo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Bogo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Askren tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bogo defends well and Askren ends up having to push Bogo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Askren wants to take the fight to the mat but Bogo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Askren is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bogo can't fight it off and eventually Askren manages to take the fight to the floor. Bogo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bogo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Askren controls the pace.

Bogo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Askren defends well.
Askren is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Askren seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bogo for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Askren stands and steps away. Bogo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Askren dives in and grabs Bogo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bogo pushes down on Askren's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Askren or perhaps it was just good defense by Bogo, which made it look bad.
And Bogo tries to counter it with a takedown but Askren pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Askren misses with a takedown attempt - Bogo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Askren shoots for a double leg takedown but Bogo sprawls well. He's pushed Askren's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Bogo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Askren's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bogo wants to control from the top but Askren keeps moving.
Bogo is working Askren over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Askren gets to his feet. Bogo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Askren on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bogo. Bogo obviously looking to wear him down.
Askren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bogo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bogo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Askren defends it well.
Askren shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bogo as he jumps to the side.
Bogo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Bogo counters with a big head kick but Askren shrugs it off.

Askren shoots in for a takedown but Bogo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Askren looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bogo is fending him off so far but Askren persists. Nope, Bogo circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bogo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bogo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Bogo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Askren throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bogo's waist but Bogo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Askren off to one side.

Askren closes the distance and clinches up with Bogo, looking for a takedown. Askren pushes Bogo against the cage but Bogo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bogo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Askren.
Adam Bogo seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Bogo is trying to drag Askren to the mat but Askren just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Askren stops a takedown attempt from Bogo.
Bogo gets underhooks to prevent Askren's takedown attempt.

Bogo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bogo manages to end up in side control.

Bogo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Askren has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bogo but great work by Askren.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Askren seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bogo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bogo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Askren pulls his head out easily.
Askren is looking to advance position but Bogo won't allow it.

Askren is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bogo is just riding it out for now. Askren eventually gives up the hold.
Askren is thwarting Bogo's attempts to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Askren not doing much here.

Bogo actively working from the bottom here.
Jake Askren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Askren seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Askren wants to free his trapped foot but Bogo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I've got Bogo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
