Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Karpov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Reeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Reeder!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeder dodges the punch combination from Karpov.
The fight stays on the outside here - Reeder looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Karpov tries to bum rush Reeder with a series of wild strikes but Reeder uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Karpov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reeder tries to close the distance and clinch but Karpov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reeder fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reeder shoots in looking for a takedown. Karpov tries to sprawl out of it but Reeder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Karpov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nick Reeder just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reeder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Karpov's waist but Karpov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reeder off to one side.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
