Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between joel edmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and lyoto machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). joel edmond had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
edmond is looking to clinch.
machida circles away from the clinch attempt.
machida shoots in and bounces edmond off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
edmond wants to stand up but machida is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
machida's corner is telling him to maintain position.

edmond is looking to stand back up but machida counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by edmond.

machida stands up and beckons edmond to join him on the feet.
machida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. edmond looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

lyoto machida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well machida has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
