PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oluwajide O Faolan (ranked 4034 p4p, 4040 weight class) and Mr Sandman (ranked 439 p4p, 0 weight class). O Faolan comes to the cage accompanied by The Prodigy - Spitfire. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oluwajide O Faolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Sandman!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Sandman keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

O Faolan clinches up against the cage.
Sandman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

O Faolan trying to stall but Sandman improves his position.

Maybe O Faolan would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
O Faolan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Oluwajide O Faolan.

Sandman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Sandman is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Sandman closes the distance and clinches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

O Faolan tries to stall but Sandman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
O Faolan is looking to control Sandman's arms but Sandman gets an underhook and turns him. Now O Faolan has his back to the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Sandman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Sandman has closed the distance and engaged O Faolan in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sandman takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
O Faolan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sandman's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Mr Sandman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sandman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Mr Sandman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Oluwajide O Faolan was interviewed post fight and said 'racism'.
