Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Herio Lupsaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lupsaka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lupsaka gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Suraman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Suraman keeping moving, preventing Lupsaka from controlling successfully.
Suraman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lupsaka is working Suraman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Lupsaka loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lupsaka trying to control but Suraman is working from the bottom.
Lupsaka lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lupsaka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Suraman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Suraman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Suraman keeping moving, preventing Lupsaka from controlling successfully.
Lupsaka has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lupsaka throws a big elbow that misses.

Suraman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lupsaka is aware though and is defending well.
Suraman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lupsaka landing with the ground and pound.
Suraman managing to control the position.
Lupsaka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suraman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lupsaka works over Suraman with some ground and pound from guard.
Lupsaka throws an elbow that misses. Suraman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lupsaka's guard. Nice move by Suraman!

Suraman postures up.
Lupsaka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Suraman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lupsaka is keeping the position for now.
Suraman stops Lupsaka from standing up.
Suraman content to stall in guard here.
Lupsaka has Suraman pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lupsaka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Suraman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lupsaka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Suraman passes Lupsaka's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Suraman wants to pass the guard but Lupsaka is defending well.
Lupsaka is refusing to be controlled, as Suraman sits in half guard.
Suraman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Lupsaka moves into full guard.
Lupsaka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Suraman manages to get himself to full guard.

Suraman pulls Lupsaka in close to prevent any damage.
Suraman wants to get back to his feet but Lupsaka is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lupsaka throws a big right hand that misses.
Lupsaka connects with a couple of short punches.
Lupsaka working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Suraman's head.
Suraman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lupsaka stands and throws Suraman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Suraman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lupsaka lands a few punches from side control.

Lupsaka lands an elbow.
Suraman is trying to improve his position.
Lupsaka working the ground and pound from side control.

It looks like Maman Suraman has been cut.
Lupsaka working away.
A big shot lands for Lupsaka! That's hurt Suraman! Will he recover? Lupsaka fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Herio Lupsaka!
During a confident post fight interview, Herio Lupsaka thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
