Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fredrigo Ruas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brett Eibner!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Eibner throws a jab when Ruas was well out of range.

Eibner moves into the clinch.
Ruas with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Eibner wants to break free but Ruas has control.
Ruas lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Brett Eibner has been cut.

Ruas using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Eibner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ruas tries to land a knee to the head but Eibner blocks with his arms.
Ruas misses with a knee strike.

Ruas keeps control of Eibner as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Eibner tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Eibner gets the takedown into side control.
Ruas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Ruas gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Eibner wants to take his opponent's back but instead Ruas manages to regain half guard.
Eibner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Eibner stalling away here and it's allowed Ruas to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Eibner forces his way into half guard.
Eibner lands strikes from half guard.
Eibner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Eibner passes to side control.
Ruas is breathing heavily.

Eibner lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ruas down.
Ruas is looking for a sweep.

Eibner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ruas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eibner on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Ruas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Eibner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ruas to see if he's OK.
Ruas wants to control but Eibner postures up.

Ruas is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Eibner asserts his dominance and retains side control.

It looks like Fredrigo Ruas has been cut.
Eibner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Eibner is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ruas is trying to escape and Eibner transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ruas is forced to tap! Nice work there by Eibner! Very nice indeed!
