Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Ubaldo Cortez (ranked 2667 p4p, 3160 weight class) and Australian RooMan (ranked 331 p4p, 381 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ubaldo Cortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 2, fighting out of New York, Australian RooMan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. RooMan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cortez throws a jab but it's blocked by RooMan.
RooMan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cortez tries to clinch but fails miserably
and RooMan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cortez feints and then cracks RooMan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow RooMan down.
Cortez throws a lazy uppercut
and RooMan counters with a series of strikes. Cortez will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fighters circling - RooMan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
RooMan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cortez.
Cortez misses with an uppercut. RooMan saw that one coming.
Cortez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and RooMan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cortez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
RooMan scores with a nice strike.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
RooMan looks to throw the jab but Cortez is out of range.
Cortez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
RooMan is looking for the big counter here.
Cortez tries to land a front kick but RooMan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cortez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from RooMan.
RooMan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Cortez throws a punch but it's blocked by RooMan.
RooMan fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Cortez lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

RooMan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cortez tries to work over RooMan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cortez struggles to land a body shot inside as RooMan controls his hands.
Cortez keeps control of RooMan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

RooMan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Cortez.
RooMan is trying to break the clinch but Cortez has him pressed against the ropes.

RooMan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cortez throws a body shot but no joy.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cortez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cortez misses with an uppercut.
RooMan moves away from the strike by Cortez.
RooMan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cortez quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Cortez scores with a nice head shot.

Cortez takes a swing at RooMan's ribcage but misses.
Cortez moves out of range as RooMan strikes.
Cortez drops his hands momentarily and RooMan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cortez throws a big shot that misses.
Cortez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and RooMan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cortez thinking.
RooMan misses with a low kick.

Cortez lands a leg kick that knocks RooMan off balance momentarily.
Cortez delivers a nice body kick.
RooMan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cortez.
Cortez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
RooMan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

RooMan scores with a one two! Cortez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Cortez misses with a body kick.
Cortez throws a hook but RooMan avoids it easily.
RooMan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Ubaldo Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
RooMan with a nice cross.
RooMan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
RooMan misses with a hook.
Cortez is looking to counter punch.
RooMan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cortez.
Cortez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
RooMan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Cortez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Cortez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from RooMan finds it's way round the side to connect with Cortez's head.
RooMan dips to his left and cracks Cortez with an uppercut!
RooMan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cortez circles away quickly and effectively.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

RooMan walks into a big right hand from Cortez and goes down! The referee sends Cortez to a neutral corner as RooMan gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.

It looks like Australian RooMan has been cut.
Cortez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
RooMan staying out of range there.
Good exchange - Cortez coming out on top.

RooMan is rocked!
RooMan is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Cortez doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! RooMan crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in RooMan's bad books for that mishap!

A relieved looking Ubaldo Cortez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
