Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Garuda Kaji (ranked 3446 p4p, 3130 weight class) and Old Grappling (ranked 356 p4p, 331 weight class). Kaji comes to the ring accompanied by Young Eagle's Song (Yokaren's Song). Garuda Kaji has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Old Grappling!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaji misses the shot to the body.
Grappling on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Grappling shoots in but Kaji avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Grappling shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaji sprawls well. He's pushed Grappling's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grappling.
Garuda Kaji has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Old Grappling.
Horrible takedown attempt by Grappling or perhaps it was just good defense by Kaji, which made it look bad.
Grappling shoots for a takedown but Kaji saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kaji lands a nice hook to Grappling's body. Grappling takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kaji tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grappling was well out of range. Poor timing from Kaji.
Kaji keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A big left from Kaji misses.
We've been told by Kaji's head coaches at Kitano Fight Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kaji lands a slapping body shot.
Grappling darts in looking for a takedown but Kaji gets double underhooks and turns Grappling into the ropes.
Kaji lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grappling shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kaji counters with a right hand to the body.
Grappling tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kaji defends well and Grappling ends up having to push Kaji into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kaji scores with a jab.

It looks like Old Grappling has been cut.

and Kaji counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Grappling shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An attempted straight right counter from Kaji misses the target.
Kaji takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Kaji throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Grappling stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Grappling fails with the takedown
and Kaji counters with a left to the body.
Old Grappling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grappling looks winded!
Grappling shoots in for a double leg but Kaji sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kaji connects with the punch.

Grappling is rocked!
Kaji digs a good body shot into Grappling's ribs.
Grappling is still on wobbly legs! Can Kaji finish him?
Grappling leaves his chin hanging out and Kaji seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Grappling crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
