Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deon Graves (ranked 1782 p4p, 1633 weight class) and Dharya Bhate (ranked 219 p4p, 208 weight class). Graves's entrance music is THE ZOO. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deon Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dharya Bhate!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bhate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Graves misses with a looping left.
Bhate changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bhate takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Graves fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bhate looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Graves throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Bhate counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bhate.
Bhate sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Graves's guard.

Bhate is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Graves is looking to improve his position.

Bhate is working for an americana but Graves has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Bhate was thinking about the submission.
Bhate looking to pass the guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Graves wants to sweep here but Bhate controlling him for the moment.

Bhate is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Graves is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Graves has escaped and now he's on top!

Bhate is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
