Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brayden Van Gogh (ranked 4067 p4p, 4325 weight class) and Van Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brayden Van Gogh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Van Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gogh wants to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Franklin! But no joy.
Franklin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Van Gogh counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Franklin throws a solid leg kick but Van Gogh takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Franklin.
Van Gogh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Franklin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Franklin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Gogh has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Franklin after a bit of a struggle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Franklin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Franklin closes the distance and pushes Van Gogh back into the cage.

Franklin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Van Gogh defends it easily.

Franklin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Van Gogh wants to improve his position but Franklin is controlling well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Franklin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Gogh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Franklin stays in close to Van Gogh's body and controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Van Gogh displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Franklin.

Franklin gets a clinch.
Van Gogh is trying to maintain a safe position but Franklin gets an underhook and turns Van Gogh into the cage.
Van Gogh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Franklin walks away with a smile on his face. Van Gogh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brayden Van Gogh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Franklin drives through and clinches with Van Gogh against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Van Gogh throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Franklin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Van Gogh counters with a one-two to the body.
Van Gogh gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Van Gogh tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Franklin swivels and escapes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Van Gogh is looking to score with low kicks.

Franklin closes the distance and pushes Van Gogh back into the cage.
Franklin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Van Goghs head.
Franklin is pushing Van Gogh up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Franklin can't get the takedown.
Van Franklin seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Franklin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Franklin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Van Gogh wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Franklin can do anything to dispel that myth.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Franklin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brayden Van Gogh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Van Franklin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Brayden Van Gogh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Van Franklin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Franklin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
