Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheikh Mahmut (ranked 422 p4p, 566 weight class) and Patrick Kearney (ranked 53 p4p, 66 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sheikh Mahmut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Patrick Kearney!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahmut connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mahmut lands an overhand right.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mahmut.
Mahmut cracks Kearney with an open hand slap.
Mahmut rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Kearney counter with a right hand.

It looks like Sheikh Mahmut has been cut.
Mahmut throws a leg kick which misses Kearney's front leg but catches the back leg as Kearney tries to avoid it.
Mahmut throws a wild body kick that Kearney sees coming a mile off.
Kearney checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Kearney has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mahmut throws out a leg kick but Kearney moves out of range and Mahmut only half commits.
Mahmut lands a nice shot to the body.
Kearney keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It seemed like Kearney was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kearney is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kearney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mahmut.

Kearney moves into the clinch.

Mahmut's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mahmut turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mahmut throws a looping overhand right but Kearney ducks down to avoid it.
Despite the aggression on Kearney's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kearney takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mahmut misses with a hook
and Kearney counters with a nice uppercut.
Kearney takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kearney listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kearney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mahmut throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mahmut cracks Kearney on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kearney falls backwards against the cage. Mahmut follows up with more strikes that drop Kearney to his knees. Mahmut keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kearney! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sheikh Mahmut!
An intense looking Sheikh Mahmut took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'There was something about that guys face, you just wanted to beat the hell out of it. He can't get any uglier so why not. Praise Allah Akbar!!!!'.
