PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Morales (ranked 4010 p4p, 5051 weight class) and Shane White (ranked 472 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tom Morales has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Morales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane White!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales throws a nice head kick!
Tom Morales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Morales tries to keep at a distance but White has taken the fight into the clinch.
White is pushing Morales up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

White pulls Morales into guard.
White scores with a short punch from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morales postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
White keeping moving, preventing Morales from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morales is looking to pass into half guard but White pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now White is in guard.

White keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Morales's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells White's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Morales shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. White manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Morales got a little sloppy there for a moment and White has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morales has managed to get both his arms back between White's legs - danger averted.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

White clinches.
Morales gets underhooks to prevent White's takedown attempt.

Morales has hold of one of White's legs. White is fighting the takedown attempt but Morales gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

White manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Morales is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. White can't fight it off and eventually Morales manages to take the fight to the floor. White looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

White is looking to control Morales's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can White avoid being mounted?

White is pulling down on Morales's head. It's preventing any offense from Morales, at least for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The adventures of White the control monster continue. Boring.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Morales's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

White feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tom Morales.
I think Morales has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
