Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tolgot Tochukwu (ranked 762 p4p, 3359 weight class) and Arjun Bhate (ranked 59 p4p, 238 weight class). Bhate has chosen Coming Back To You as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tolgot Tochukwu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arjun Bhate!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhate ducks under a wild hook from Tochukwu.
Tochukwu doesn't manage to clinch there - Bhate circles away.
It seemed like Bhate was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Tochukwu tries to clinch but Bhate is having none of it.
Bhate swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Tochukwu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bhate swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A jab from Tochukwu does it's job there.
Bhate swats away the attempt to clinch by Tochukwu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tochukwu has Bhate up against the cage in a clinch.

Tochukwu jumps into guard, dragging Bhate to the mat.

Bhate postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tochukwu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bhate, into his guard.

Tochukwu passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Tochukwu happy to just control the position for now.
Bhate is looking to reverse the position.
Bhate is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tochukwu is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Bhate is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bhate looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Bhate rolls, trying to escape but Tochukwu keeps control of the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Tochukwu controlling the positon.
Tochukwu keeps control of the position as Bhate tries to break free.

I would not like to be Bhate right now.
Tochukwu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tochukwu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bhate tries to break free.
Bhate tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bhate is trying to reverse the position but instead Tochukwu has taken his back - oops!
Tochukwu is riding his opponent, not letting Bhate buck him off.
Tochukwu keeps control of the position as Bhate tries to break free.
Tochukwu biding his time, controlling Bhate.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tochukwu clinches up against the cage.

Tochukwu pulls guard effortlessly.

Bhate has gone for a leg lock! Tochukwu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bhate's guard.


Bhate isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tochukwu stacks Bhate on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tochukwu!
Bhate looks to move to half guard but instead Tochukwu has passed into mount! Damn!

Tochukwu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bhate can do to turn this around?

Bhate is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Tochukwu off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Bhate breaks Tochukwu's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
We've been informed that Bhate has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Tochukwu has his hands on Bhate's head, controlling the position.

Tochukwu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bhate trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tolgot Tochukwu dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Tochukwu tries to clinch but Bhate is having none of it.
Bhate throws out a counter right but Tochukwu avoids it with no problem.
Tolgot Tochukwu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tochukwu drives through and clinches with Bhate against the cage.
Tochukwu jumps guard but Bhate stands there with Tochukwu around his waist. Tochukwu gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tochukwu jumps guard and drags Bhate to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Bhate must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Tochukwu is pulling down on Bhate's head to control his posture.

Bhate drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tochukwu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tochukwu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tochukwu!

Tochukwu manages to capitalize on a mistake by Bhate to take his back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bhate is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Tochukwu has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bhate's body.
Tolgot Tochukwu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bhate is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
What can Bhate do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Bhate tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Tochukwu has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Bhate is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tolgot Tochukwu!
