Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maman Suraman (ranked 1016 p4p, 919 weight class) and Charles Traynor (ranked 138 p4p, 127 weight class). Traynor has chosen Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne as his entrance music. Charles Traynor has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maman Suraman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Traynor!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Traynor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Maman Suraman has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Suraman misses the target.
Traynor scores with a decent looking hook.
Suraman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Traynor throws a series of punches but Suraman moves out of range.
Suraman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Traynor misses with a wild combination.
Traynor throws a looping overhand right but Suraman ducks down to avoid it.
Traynor lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Suraman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Traynor swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suraman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Suraman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Suraman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Suraman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Traynor keeps working.
The ground and pound from Suraman seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Suraman is looking to take a break and control but Traynor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Suraman postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Traynor is not content to let Suraman control the position.

The strikes coming from Suraman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Suraman throws a sloppy strike and Traynor uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Traynor has ended up in Suraman's guard.

Suraman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Traynor stacks Suraman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Traynor!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Suraman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Suraman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Traynor's best efforts.

Traynor tries to sprawl but Suraman drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Suraman is keen to just control but Traynor is a slippery customer.

Traynor felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Suraman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Suraman winds up and cracks Traynor with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Traynor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fight stays on the outside here - Suraman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Traynor fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Traynor scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Traynor stuns Suraman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Traynor. Suraman does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Suraman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Traynor won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Suraman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Suraman throws a lazy right hand but Traynor sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Traynor jabs Suraman right on the nose. Suraman blinks but takes it well.
Traynor stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Traynor wants it to stay on the feet.

Suraman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Traynor avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suraman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
