Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between darcy mcphearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Golden Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy has chosen Stars in Alabama as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy shoots in but mcphearson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
mcphearson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boy swivels and escapes.
Boy shoots in but no luck this time.

Boy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. mcphearson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

mcphearson is pushing Boy's head away, looking to escape. Boy manages to hold on to the position though.

Boy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says mcphearson as he avoids it easily.

Boy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
mcphearson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Boy is fighting off a takedown attempt but mcphearson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Boy to the mat. Boy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Boy postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. mcphearson looks a forlorn figure.
Boy cracks mcphearson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Boy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but mcphearson is surviving well by controlling Boy's body position as best he can.

Boy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
mcphearson really wants to buck Boy off and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee warns mcphearson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
