Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sandy Conner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, DeMarco West!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by West.
West stands up and we're back to a striking position.
West drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Conner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
West controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Conner has momentary wrist control but West slips an elbow through the middle.
West stands and steps away. Conner gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
West looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Conner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
West seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
West gets to his feet. Conner looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Conner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. West tries to avoid it but Conner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag West to the ground. West escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Conner really is a fat lump.
West ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Conner is breathing heavily.
West thuds his right hand into Conner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
West shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Conner manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
West works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
West lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Conner quite badly. Conner pulls West in close trying to recover. West postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Conner on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Conner doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DeMarco West!
