PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Binsar Siregar (ranked 2881 p4p, 1125 weight class) and Sparky Anderson (ranked 363 p4p, 157 weight class). Anderson has chosen Pick up man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sparky Anderson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Binsar Siregar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Siregar.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Anderson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Anderson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Siregar quickly recovers to half guard.

Siregar has one foot on Anderson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Anderson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Siregar circles away quickly and effectively.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Siregar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Anderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Siregar tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Siregar to the ground. Siregar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Anderson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Siregar back to the cage. Anderson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Siregar goes for a double leg but Anderson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Anderson continues to drive forward.
Anderson throws out a counter right but Siregar avoids it with no problem.

Siregar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sparky Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
