Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gurizuri Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thor White!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura swings away with a body shot that misses
and White connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that White has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nakamura bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of White's head.
Nakamura connects with a good right hand that stumbles White. White circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nakamura lands a jab.
Nakamura leaves White with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nakamura feinted with a counter takedown.
White takes a swing at Nakamura's ribcage but misses.
Nakamura looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nakamura lands a slapping body shot.

White closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - White lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
White slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
White tries to free his leg and advance position but Nakamura is retaining full guard.

White advances to half guard.

White trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nakamura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
White controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
White trying to control but Nakamura is working from the bottom.
White pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nakamura is keeping the position for now.
Nakamura trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Nakamura might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nakamura wants to reverse the position here. White has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Nakamura is forced to tap! Nakamura looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.
