The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
Nice takedown defense from Abbott. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
Abbott tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Smith is able to avoid easily.
Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Smith is looking for a kimura here.
Abbott tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
Abbott trying to hold on to Smith's head to control him but Smith postures up.
Abbott actively working from the bottom here.
Smith moves into full mount! Abbott won't be happy about that!
Smith working for a guillotine from mount but Abbott is in no mood to give up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Abbott manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abbott sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Abbott wants to get back to full guard.
Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abbott is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

Abbott makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Abbott.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Abbott can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Abbott wants to get back to full guard.
Abbott works his way to full guard. Good work.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Abbott is keeping the position.
Abbott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Smith has gone for a leg lock! Abbott slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smith's guard.
Abbott is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Smith working for a triangle but Abbott defends it easily.

Abbott is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Abbott with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Smith defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Abbott.

Abbott moves to the back.
Even with his hooks in, Abbott manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Smith preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Abbott.

Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abbott tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abbott to the ground. Abbott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Abbott lands a left and a right that sends Smith crashing to the canvas! Abbott dives into mount looking to finish!
Smith is rocked!
It looks like Parker Smith has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith can't escape the position.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Abbott finish him?
Abbott is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smith can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Abbott content just to control the position here.

Abbott can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.

Smith sneaks back into half guard.
Abbott seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Smith is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
