Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rantang Gustus (ranked 553 p4p, 874 weight class) and Gillechriosd McCoy (ranked 77 p4p, 124 weight class). McCoy has chosen YxngB - The Irish as his entrance music. Gillechriosd McCoy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gustuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gustus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCoy manages to avoid it.
McCoy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McCoy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gustus wants to clinch.

and McCoy counters with a crisp one two that drops Gustus! McCoy thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gustus to his feet! Gustus is in big trouble!

A nice side step and McCoy releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McCoy keeps the fight on the outside.
McCoy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

McCoy sends Gustus crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! McCoy is motioning to the referee to let Gustus up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Rantang Gustus has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oh Gustus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCoy is working Gustus over against the cage.
McCoy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gustus's elbow.
Gustus seems to have got his legs back now.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, McCoy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Gustus wants the takedown. McCoy is fighting it off but Gustus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McCoy's guard against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've been hearing good reports from Gustus's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gustus got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCoy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gustus has managed to get both his arms back between McCoy's legs - danger averted.

A little feinted left hand from Gustus on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

McCoy felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McCoy is looking to control Gustus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCoy avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gustus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McCoy is just riding it out for now. Gustus eventually gives up the hold.

Gustus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McCoy stacks Gustus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McCoy!

Gustus swings around for an armbar but McCoy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gustus's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCoy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gustus looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McCoy puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Gustus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McCoy is aware though and is defending well.

Gustus has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McCoy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gustus.
