Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Burns (ranked 2143 p4p, 3206 weight class) and Eusebio Montoya (ranked 283 p4p, 395 weight class). Burns's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, will ospreay theme. Eusebio Montoya has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Martin Burns's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eusebio Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Burns stops Montoya from standing up.
Burns controlling from the top position.
Burns is looking to pass into half guard but Montoya pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Montoya is in guard.

Burns is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Montoya can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Montoya wanted to stand there but Burns had control of the position.
Burns bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Montoya's guard.

Burns advances position into side control!
The referee asks Burns politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Burns prefers to stall for the moment though.
Montoya pushes Burns away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Burns gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Burns is looking to take a break and control but Montoya is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Montoya is trying to buck Burns off.
Burns has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Montoya!

Burns escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montoya gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Burns has his foot on Montoya's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montoya works his way back into a safe position though.
Montoya wants to get up but he can't break Burns's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Montoya! But no joy.
Montoya lands a glancing blow to the side of Burns's head.
The crowd cheers as Montoya lands an impressive looking overhand right. Burns doesn't seem phased though.

Montoya lunges at Burns with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Burns's hand.
A nice leg kick lands there from Montoya.
Montoya dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Burns. That did some damage!
Burns is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Burns dives in for a single leg takedown but Montoya sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A little jabbing left from Montoya on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Montoya lands a right hand that snaps the head of Burns backwards.
Burns is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Montoya to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burns drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Montoya gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Burns.
Montoya lands a right hand.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Montoya.
Montoya misses with a hook to the ribs.
Burns goes for a takedown in the clinch but Montoya prevents it.
Montoya lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Montoya pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Burns has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Montoya finds it's way round the side to connect with Burns's head.
Montoya has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Montoya catches Burns with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Burns is rocked!

Burns fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Montoya to the ground. Burns is now in Montoya's guard.
Oh Burns is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Montoya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burns looking to sit in guard and control but Montoya gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Burns seems to have got his legs back now.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Burns looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Montoya darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Burns moves into the clinch.
Burns is trying to drag Montoya to the mat but Montoya just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Montoya closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Burns! Montoya dives in looking to finish! Burns is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eusebio Montoya!
Eusebio Montoya decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
