Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alfonz Novak (ranked 2964 p4p, 3983 weight class) and Tom Roberts (ranked 363 p4p, 460 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roberts tries to keep at a distance but Novak has taken the fight into the clinch.
Roberts gets through Novak's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Novak is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Novak drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roberts gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Roberts lands a shot to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Roberts.

Novak manages to break the clinch.
Novak throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Novak forces Roberts back against the cage and clinches.
Roberts working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Novak is trying to force a seperation but Roberts has the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Novak postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Novak is looking to take a break and control but Roberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roberts can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Roberts's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Roberts parries the strikes from Novak easily there. Novak is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Roberts to escape.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Novak lands a nice short elbow.
Novak tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roberts knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Novak lands a big elbow - Roberts is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Novak!
