Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Irons (ranked 4351 p4p, 3899 weight class) and Nacho El Luchador (ranked 455 p4p, 434 weight class). Magnus Irons has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus Irons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nacho El Luchador!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Irons enables El Luchador to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Irons manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Irons will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
El Luchador trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
El Luchador is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like El Luchador might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

El Luchador got a little sloppy there for a moment and Irons has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, El Luchador has managed to get both his arms back between Irons's legs - danger averted.
El Luchador tries to free his leg and advance position but Irons is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

El Luchador is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

and Irons counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Irons loads up on a big right hand but El Luchador slips the punch.
El Luchador looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

El Luchador bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
El Luchador controls the position.
Sloppy strikes there by El Luchador.
Irons is looking for a sweep.
Irons struggling a bit here.

El Luchador thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Irons prevents El Luchador from improving position.
Irons is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Raptors Den MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Irons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but El Luchador wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Let's hope that El Luchador has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Irons manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nacho El Luchador dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

El Luchador shoots in and drives through. Irons sprawls well.
El Luchador closes the distance and clinches up with Irons, looking for a takedown. El Luchador pushes Irons against the cage but Irons circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
El Luchador tries to score a power double leg takedown but Irons sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten El Luchador somewhat.
A quick step to the side and Irons tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Magnus Irons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nacho El Luchador.
El Luchador walks into a jab.
Irons lands with a good body shot.
Irons tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

El Luchador drives through with a takedown into Irons's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with El Luchador in particular looking to stall.

El Luchador is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Well, if El Luchador is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Irons tries to roll over but El Luchador keeps him under control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
El Luchador is controlling the pace.
El Luchador thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Irons's head.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Irons is trying to control but El Luchador manages to pass to mount!
Irons keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

El Luchador tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
El Luchador thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
El Luchador looking to control and managing it successfully.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from El Luchador.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nacho El Luchador showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

El Luchador shoots in but no luck this time.
El Luchador goes for a double leg but Irons avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Irons continues to drive forward.

Magnus Irons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nacho El Luchador.
Irons moves in looking to clinch but El Luchador pushes him off.
Irons slaps away a takedown attempt from El Luchador, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Irons moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nacho El Luchador is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
El Luchador with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Irons to score with a decent uppercut.

El Luchador takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
El Luchador shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Irons pinned against the cage. Irons gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Magnus Irons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Irons lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Irons.
Magnus Irons has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

It looks like Nacho El Luchador has been cut.

El Luchador misses with a takedown attempt - Irons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
El Luchador has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Irons.
Horrible takedown attempt by El Luchador or perhaps it was just good defense by Irons, which made it look bad.
El Luchador tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Irons swivels and escapes.
Irons tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but El Luchador was well out of range. Poor timing from Irons.

Irons connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between El Luchador's hands.
El Luchador shoots in looking for a takedown but Irons manages to keep the fight standing, pushing El Luchador's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Irons cracks a nice hook into El Luchador's ribs.
El Luchador takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Irons goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Irons lands a nice shot that snaps El Luchador's head back.
Irons is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that El Luchador can do to turn this around?

El Luchador tries for a takedown but Irons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
El Luchador darts in looking for a takedown but Irons gets double underhooks and turns El Luchador into the cage.
Irons was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
El Luchador takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
El Luchador takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Irons wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Magnus Irons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
El Luchador circles away from the clinch attempt.

Irons dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
El Luchador walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Irons lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A jab from Irons does it's job there.
Irons connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed El Luchador momentarily.

El Luchador gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Irons.
El Luchador is still on wobbly legs! Can Irons finish him?

Irons cracks El Luchador with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends El Luchador tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Irons pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! El Luchador is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Magnus Irons!
