Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wolfgang Pauli (ranked 771 p4p, 997 weight class) and Tokoni Soaki (ranked 91 p4p, 116 weight class). Soaki has chosen Le Manu - Shepherds Reign as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Wolfgang Pauli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Tokoni Soaki!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soaki falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pauli cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Tokoni Soaki has been cut.
Soaki cracks Pauli with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've been told by Pauli's head coaches at Monkey Magic that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A clash of legs there as Pauli blocks the low kick.
Soaki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Soaki throws a lazy right hand but Pauli sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pauli was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Pauli throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Soaki misses with a jab to the body
and Pauli counters with a right hand to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soaki misses with a few strikes there.
Soaki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Soaki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Some wild striking there from Pauli.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pauli throws a sloppy body shot
and Soaki counters with a nice uppercut.
Pauli takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pauli cracks Soaki with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Pauli displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Soaki.
Soaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pauli moves away.
Pauli throws a quick inside leg kick.
Pauli slips under a jab.
Pauli is looking for a counter combo.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pauli.
Soaki fails with the takedown
and Pauli counters with a thumping low kick.
Tokoni Soaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soaki throws a lazy uppercut

and Pauli counters with a crisp right hand that drops Soaki! Pauli lets Soaki back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pauli avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Soaki connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Soaki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Soaki has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Soaki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Soaki throws a lazy uppercut
and Pauli counters with a huge left! Soaki is in big trouble! He's backing up but Pauli isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Soaki from any more damage. A dominating finish by Pauli!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wolfgang Pauli!
After winning the bout, Wolfgang Pauli thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Tokoni Soaki spoke after the fight, saying 'Thank you to my opponent and all the fans, my coaches and sponsors. And to everyone in my division, Teke lava tauolunga mo au? (Do you wanna Dance with me?)'.
