Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silvio Van De Leide (ranked 5575 p4p, 2380 weight class) and Caleb DeCoteau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van De Leide comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm - Darude. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Silvio Van De Leide!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Caleb DeCoteau!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeCoteau throws a right hand that Van De Leide ducks under and follows up with a left that Van De Leide also avoids with ease.
Van De Leide throwing a counter right hand but DeCoteau manages to avoid it.
Van De Leide tried to score with a low kick but DeCoteau checks it.
DeCoteau is looking to slow Van De Leide down with leg kicks.
DeCoteau misses with a body shot.
Van De Leide throws a sloppy head kick and DeCoteau moves out of range easily.
DeCoteau jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Van De Leide motions for DeCoteau to come forward. Van De Leide throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
DeCoteau now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

and DeCoteau cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Van De Leide lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and DeCoteau has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from DeCoteau and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that DeCoteau has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van De Leide has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. DeCoteau is working away from the top position though.
DeCoteau is looking to advance position but Van De Leide won't allow it.
DeCoteau is thwarting Van De Leide's attempts to control the position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Van De Leide wants to get back to his feet.
Van De Leide is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Forge 👊, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
DeCoteau wants to take a breather but Van De Leide is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
DeCoteau lunges at Van De Leide with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Van De Leide's hand.

Van De Leide gets caught napping as DeCoteau dives in and scores a takedown. Van De Leide manages to retain guard.

Van De Leide is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of DeCoteau's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take DeCoteau's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van De Leide cracks DeCoteau with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing DeCoteau from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
DeCoteau breaks Van De Leide's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van De Leide tries to land a sweep but no joy.
DeCoteau controls from within his opponent's guard.
Van De Leide is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Despite the aggression on DeCoteau's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
DeCoteau lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Van De Leide lands a glancing blow to the side of DeCoteau's head.
DeCoteau tries to move into range but Van De Leide moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
DeCoteau tries a low kick but Van De Leide avoids it.

Van De Leide's hands are dropping dangerously low here and DeCoteau connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Van De Leide scrambles back to his feet.

Nice uppercut lands for DeCoteau. That snapped Van De Leide's head back.

DeCoteau is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Van De Leide is in big trouble! DeCoteau is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Van De Leide. Poor guy.
