PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Garuda Kaji (ranked 4580 p4p, 4185 weight class) and Alex Baastuber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaji comes to the cage accompanied by Young Eagle's Song (Yokaren's Song). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaji jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Baastuber's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kaji connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Baastuber scrambles back to his feet.
Baastuber uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kaji.

Kaji thuds his right hand into Baastuber's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The cut above Alex Baastuber's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Kaji feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Baastuber sprawling to the canvas! Baastuber rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kaji finish him?!
Kaji ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Kaji was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Baastuber lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Baastuber takes a shot to the body in his stride.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kaji moves forwards but Baastuber connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Kaji cracks Baastuber with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kaji has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Baastuber to stand back up!

Kaji throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Baastuber takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kaji tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baastuber paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kaji rushes Baastuber and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Baastuber is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Kaji piles on the pressure and Baastuber crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
