Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Gary (ranked 5718 p4p, 24012 weight class) and PotterStone Livingstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ian Gary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, PotterStone Livingstone!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gary bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Livingstone bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Gary scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gary is trying to work for a kimura but Livingstone is defending well.

Gary is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Livingstone defends it well.
Livingstone is refusing to be controlled, as Gary sits in half guard.
Livingstone missing with punches from the bottom.
Gary really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gary passes to side control.

Gary decides to stand back up.

Livingstone clinches up against the cage.

Livingstone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gary fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Livingstone sprawls well initially but Gary persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gary trying to control the action but Livingstone is working from the bottom.
Gary throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Livingstone to regain full guard.

Gary's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gary is looking to advance position but Livingstone has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gary is breathing heavily.
Gary is desperately trying to improve his position but Livingstone has a good base and remains in mount.
Livingstone controlling the pace for now.
Gary wants to control but Livingstone is having none of it.
Livingstone wants to control the pace but Gary is squirming around nicely.

Livingstone breaks from Gary's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Livingstone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gary can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gary wants to hold on but Livingstone pushes him away.
Livingstone is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Gary is in a horrible position here. Livingstone smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Livingstone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Gary wriggles free and stands up.

Gary clinches up with Livingstone and pushes him back against the cage.
Livingstone has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gary pulls guard effortlessly.
Livingstone not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Livingstone postures up in Gary's guard and throws a big left but Gary blocks it.
Gary is trying to keep Livingstone in close.
Gary manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Livingstone manages to get himself to full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gary not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Livingstone looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gary is one step ahead there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Livingstone is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Gary is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Livingstone has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gary fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Gary wants to lay and pray for a moment but Livingstone keeps working.
Livingstone throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Gary will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Livingstone manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gary is thwarting Livingstone's attempts to control the position.

Gary is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No joy there for Livingstone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gary moves into the clinch successfully.

Livingstone pulls Gary into guard.
Gary trying to control but Livingstone is working from the bottom.
Gary pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Livingstone is keeping the position for now.
Livingstone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gary manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gary looking for a guillotine here but Livingstone defends easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Livingstone scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Livingstone trying to control the position but Gary is working away.
Gary is looking to reverse the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Gary's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Livingstone is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gary knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gary wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Livingstone tries to advance to mount but Gary denies him.

Gary manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Livingstone is controlling Gary's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Gary throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Livingstone is trying to control but can't.
Livingstone is positioning himself well to prevent Gary advancing to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gary's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Livingstone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Livingstone decides to stand back up. Livingstone steps back and let's Gary get back to his feet.

Gary closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Livingstone's guard.

Livingstone manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Livingstone avoids the head kick by Gary.

Livingstone throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gary was covering up waiting for the punch and Livingstone finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gary throws his legs up looking for a submission but Livingstone uses it to pass to side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gary is trying to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to PotterStone Livingstone.
I think Livingstone has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
