Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuu Matsumoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ric Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matsumoto feints and as Tiger raises his hands in defense, Matsumoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tiger trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Tiger wants to get back to his feet but Matsumoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Matsumoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tiger swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Matsumoto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tiger throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Matsumoto working away.
Tiger is trying to buck Matsumoto off.
Tiger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matsumoto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tiger stops Matsumoto from passing to mount.
Matsumoto wants to control but Tiger is keeping him busy.
Matsumoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tiger is trying to get back to his feet.
Matsumoto wants to control but Tiger is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tiger shoots and misses

so Matsumoto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tiger looking for a sweep. Not yet Tiger, not yet.
Matsumoto lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matsumoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Tiger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Matsumoto works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tiger is refusing to be controlled, as Matsumoto sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matsumoto is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Tiger is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ryuu Matsumoto!
