PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russao Bolado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hopsan Barley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: hells bells. On his way into the cage it seems that Russao Bolado has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Russao Bolado seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolado wants to slow Barley down by chopping away at his legs.

Barley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bolado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bolado just misses with a elbow thrown towards Barley's brow.

Barley fails to land with a series of punches.
Barley shoots in but Bolado avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Barley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bolado gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bolado chips away with some ground and pound.
Barley thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Hopsan Barley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Barley is predictable there
and Bolado counters with an inside leg kick.

Barley darts in and clinches Bolado up against the cage.
Bolado with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Bolado's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Barley misses with a wild body shot.
Barley misses with a takedown attempt - Bolado sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barley shoots in for a takedown but Bolado shows good takedown defense.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bolado takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Russao Bolado just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Bolado throws a push kick but Barley slaps the foot to one side.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bolado counters with a nice low kick that buckles Barley's knee momentarily.
Barley chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bolado can pounce on him.

Bolado moves into the clinch successfully.
Bolado tries for a takedown but Barley manages to get underhooks.

Bolado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bolado pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barley on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bolado. Bolado obviously looking to wear him down.
Good leg kick by Bolado there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Barley stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bolado.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barley tries to close the distance and clinch but Bolado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bolado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Barley tries to stall but Bolado uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Barley is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bolado is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Barley.
