PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bingo Dingo (ranked 4204 p4p, 4153 weight class) and Justin Bolivar (ranked 0 p4p, 266 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bingo Dingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Justin Bolivar!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Darius Henderson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolivar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dingo defends well and Bolivar ends up having to push Dingo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bolivar misses with a wild combination.
Bolivar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bolivar dives in and grabs Dingo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dingo pushes down on Bolivar's head and hops out.
Dingo scores with a nice body kick.
Bolivar lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bolivar.

Dingo gets a clinch.

Dingo breaks from the clinch.

Dingo has Bolivar up against the cage in a clinch.

Dingo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bolivar fails with the takedown.
Bingo Dingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Bolivar.
Dingo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bolivar doesn't seem bothered though.

Bolivar darts in looking for a takedown but Dingo gets double underhooks and turns Bolivar into the cage.
A head kick from Dingo lands but Bolivar takes it in his stride.

Dingo scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bolivar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bolivar throws a right and a left that Dingo avoids nicely.
Dingo appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
A punch lands to the side of Bolivar 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Dingo decides to pull guard.
Dingo has his hands on Bolivar's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dingo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dingo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bolivar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bolivar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dingo wants to sweep here but Bolivar controlling him for the moment.

Dingo pushes Bolivar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Dingo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Bolivar is trying to get back to full guard.
Dingo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dingo passes to full mount!
Dingo thowing shots but they're missing.
Dingo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bolivar is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dingo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bolivar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dingo throws a series of punches but Bolivar avoids them all with ease.

Bolivar gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dingo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bolivar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dingo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dingo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dingo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bolivar's guard.

Dingo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bolivar pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dingo misses with a body shot.
Bolivar fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bolivar throws a body kick that misses.
Bolivar takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bolivar wants to land a leg kick but Dingo is out of range.
Dingo leaves Bolivar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bingo Dingo is winning the standup battle so far.
Bolivar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Bolivar gets underhooks to prevent Dingo's takedown attempt.

Bolivar tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bolivar can't break the clinch.
Bolivar jumps guard but Dingo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Dingo manages to break the clinch.
Bolivar goes for a double leg but Dingo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dingo continues to drive forward.
Dingo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bolivar is looking for a sweep. Dingo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bolivar actively working from the bottom here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dingo is controlling the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bolivar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

As Bolivar looks to move away, Dingo throws a big counter combo but Bolivar just gets out of the way.
Bolivar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dingo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bolivar somewhat.

Bolivar wants to stand and escape but instead Dingo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dingo is looking to work some ground and pound but Bolivar has wrist control.

Bolivar wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dingo is now in half guard.
Bolivar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dingo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dingo slows the pace down in half guard.
Bingo Dingo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dingo trying to mount his opponent but Bolivar defends it.

Dingo controlling the pace.
Dingo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bolivar!
Bolivar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dingo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dingo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Bolivar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bolivar tries to hold on but Dingo pushes him away.

Dingo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dingo throwing strikes here but Bolivar is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dingo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bolivar hang on?
Justin Bolivar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bingo Dingo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bolivar is trying to reverse the position but instead Dingo has taken his back - oops!

Bingo Dingo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dingo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
