Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy O Taybel (ranked 4240 p4p, 4140 weight class) and River Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paddy O Taybel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, River Davis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Davis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Taybel sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like O Taybel was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Davis misses the shot to the body.
Davis throws a low kick but O Taybel moves out of range easily.
Davis tries to score a power double leg takedown but O Taybel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davis somewhat.
Davis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A nice combination there by O Taybel.
O Taybel shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. O Taybel tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag O Taybel to the ground. O Taybel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Davis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
O Taybel has managed to clinch.
O Taybel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
O Taybel throws a wild body kick that Davis sees coming a mile off.

O Taybel wants to get back to his feet but Davis passes into half guard.

Davis is keen to just control but O Taybel is a slippery customer.

Davis decides to stand up, so the ref orders O Taybel to his feet.

O Taybel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing O Taybel off to one side.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis pushes O Taybel off and gets back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Paddy O Taybel will probably get the nod.

Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but O Taybel keeps working.
O Taybel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if O Taybel tries to get out of the position.
Davis lands a few punches from side control.
O Taybel is trying to work for a sweep but Davis has mounted him!
Davis breaks from O Taybel's wrist control and lands an elbow.
O Taybel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Davis punishing his opponent with strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

O Taybel is desperately trying to improve his position but Davis has a good base and remains in mount.

Davis is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Davis tries to control but O Taybel wriggling away.
Davis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. O Taybel looks a forlorn figure.
Davis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
River Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paddy O Taybel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Davis is landing with some decent strikes but O Taybel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that's the end of the fight!
River Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think O Taybel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
