Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christian Dresner (ranked 1664 p4p, 2544 weight class) and Captain Blood (ranked 227 p4p, 336 weight class). Captain Blood has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christian Dresner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Captain Blood!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dresner shoots in and gets a takedown into Blood's guard.
Blood controls Dresner momentarily but Dresner frees himself.
Dresner wants to control from the top but Blood keeps moving.
Dresner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blood is keeping the position for now.
Dresner passes Blood's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dresner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dresner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dresner is working for a guillotine from mount but Blood frees his head quite easily.

Dresner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Blood has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Blood!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dresner is on top in guard.

Blood is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Blood can't keep his opponent in guard - Dresner advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Blood is trying to maintain the position but Dresner is very close to passing his half guard.

Dresner is working for a kimura but Blood is defending it quite comfortably.

Dresner is looking for a kimura but Blood is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dresner to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dresner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Blood defending well though.
Dresner is keen to just control but Blood is a slippery customer.
Dresner moves into full mount! Blood won't be happy about that!
Blood is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dresner wants to finish this one by submission but Blood is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dresner.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dresner goes for an armbar but Blood turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Blood.

Dresner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blood's guard.

Dresner advances position into side control!
Blood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dresner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dresner is trying to get an arm triangle but Blood is defending well.

Dresner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Blood knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blood can do anything to dispel that myth.
Blood tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dresner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blood keeps working.

Dresner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dresner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dresner tries for a kimura but Blood is defending well.
Blood is not content to let Dresner control the position.
Dresner advances nicely into full mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Blood lands with an uppercut that bounces Dresner off the cage and back into range.

Blood tries to roll over but Dresner keeps him under control.

Dresner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Blood is looking for a sweep. Dresner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dresner is pressing down on Blood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blood is holding on for now.

Dresner in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Blood tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dresner!
