Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ice General (ranked 4272 p4p, 4236 weight class) and Kenji Yamazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenji Yamazaki has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ice General's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ice General!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Yamazaki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamazaki throws an off balance right hand
and General counters with a series of strikes. Yamazaki will be more careful next time no doubt.
General tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
General tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

General clinches with his opponent.
A short left from Yamazaki.
A short right from Yamazaki.
General tries to stall but Yamazaki uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
General can't find room to land a body shot as Yamazaki controls the action.
Yamazaki tries to throw a body punch but General avoids it by throwing Yamazaki back against the cage.

Yamazaki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
General shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamazaki as he jumps to the side.
Yamazaki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yamazaki listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

It looks like Ice General has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
General uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yamazaki.
Yamazaki throws a right and a left that General avoids nicely.
General closes the distance and clinches up with Yamazaki, looking for a takedown. General pushes Yamazaki against the cage but Yamazaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Yamazaki. No joy for General on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ice General. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yamazaki misses with a double jab.

General closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - General lands in his opponent's guard.
Yamazaki keeping moving, preventing General from controlling successfully.
General sitting in guard, not really doing much.

General trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamazaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yamazaki can do anything to dispel that myth.
General working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
General trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamazaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
General shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamazaki as he jumps to the side.
Yamazaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
General is breathing heavily.

Yamazaki drops General with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but General looks back up at him and smiles so Yamazaki waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

General is rocked!
General shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Yamazaki counters with a right hand from hell and General is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kenji Yamazaki!
Kenji Yamazaki decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
