PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 2713 p4p, 1799 weight class) and Xue Fang (ranked 125 p4p, 93 weight class). Takeishi comes into the arena with Kabuki Gomen-Jyo blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Mitsugu Takeishi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mitsugu Takeishi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeishi pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Fang tries to land a leg kick but Takeishi saw it coming and moves away.
Fang bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takeishi's head backwards.
Fang misses with a hook.
Takeishi tries for a takedown but Fang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fang connects with an inside leg kick.
Takeishi slips a straight right by Fang.
Fang throws an overhand right that lands on Takeishi's shoulder, as Takeishi tries to avoid the shot.
Fang dodges the punch combination from Takeishi.
Fang connects with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fang lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Takeishi at a distance.
Takeishi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fang to score with a decent uppercut.
Fang slaps away a takedown attempt from Takeishi, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Fang clinches up with Takeishi and pushes him back against the cage.
Takeishi jumps guard but Fang turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Fang is leaning against Takeishi and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Takeishi is trying to push Fang away but Fang has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Fang swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fang goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fang misses with the head strike.
Takeishi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fang works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Fang tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Takeishi breaks from the clinch.

It looks like Mitsugu Takeishi has been cut.
Fang wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Fang throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Takeishi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fang sends Takeishi crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Fang is motioning to the referee to let Takeishi up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Takeishi is rocked!
Fang lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Takeishi up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Fang from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Takeishi's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Xue Fang!
